What is ICAMES?

ICAMES (International Cultural and Academic Meeting of Engineering Students) is an international, academic and cultural project competition that is held in May annually, 30th this year, by the Engineering Society (ENSO) of Bogazici University. Its academic committee is formed by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and an advisor from each Engineering Department of Bogazici University. We do not only have an academic side, but also various activities introducing different countries and cultures to each other during the week. In addition to the project presentations, social and cultural activities such as the "Cultural Night" about the participating countries, a “Campus Day” full of Bogazici spirit and a concert that has amusing performances with approximately 5000 participants are included in the ICAMES program as well.

ICAMES 2026 (4-10 May)

This year’s primary theme revolves around developing Innovative Systems to Save Lives in Natural Disasters. Within this framework, we anticipate your contributions to enhance disaster resilience and emergency response mechanisms, spanning preventative, structural, logistical, and technological dimensions. Your project is encouraged to focus on one or more subtopics related to improvements or innovations—such as early warning technologies, search and rescue robotics, or resilient infrastructure—and it should be developed by employing rigorous engineering and scientific methodologies throughout its construction.

On the initial day, participant groups will present their projects to academic members, referred to as the jury, through a poster presentation. The jury will conduct the poster session by visiting each display, posing questions about the projects. Subsequent to this presentation, selected projects, determined by the jurors' votes, will advance to present their work to academic members on the second day, addressing any inquiries that arise. Ultimately, at the conclusion of the second day, results will be determined based on the jurors' scoring of the presentations from that day.

#Social Fee:

→ All accommodation, food, transportation, and participation in all the academic activities of ICAMES is completely free. To ensure we provide the highest quality experience for all our guests, and to make sure the ICAMES spirit is lived to the fullest with an enhanced social program, we are introducing a social fee for ICAMES 2026.

The social fee for ICAMES 2026 is: 50 Euro

→ Note that the social fee is completely optional, but recommended in order to participate in the biggest social activities of ICAMES; such as the Turkish Night, Bosphorus Tour, and House Party.

→ All the academic activities, and other social activities such as the Opening Night, Campus Day, Historical Peninsula Tour, and Cultural Night; along with accommodation throughout the ICAMES week, all meals, and local transportation is completely covered by the organization committee.

→ Travel expenses to and from Istanbul are the responsibility of the participants, and they will not be covered by the organization committee.

#Prerequisites:

→ Your project should deal with engineering techniques and must be prepared by undergraduate students.
